This tool resembles a painter’s canvas: preformatted with the nine blocks—which facilitates the student's ability to “paint pictures” of new or existing business models. It is a hands-on tool that fosters understanding, discussion, creativity, and analysis. The robust model can analyze the business model of large companies, e.g., Amazon or Netflix; as well as entrepreneurial start-ups or "mom and pop" small businesses.
